Austerity Video shoot in NYC

Here's a video we shot on a cold February day in New York City for a great client - Cecchetti Wine Company - to launch their new "Austerity" brand. It was a bit of an odd idea for a wine company to pull off. The concept was "Taking Austerity to Wall Street" - and the timing couldn't have worked out better.

We actually shot it the day before the sequester and had a teaser up right away. The full video (below) was released the next week. The whole thing was timed with the arrival of samples sent to press about the wine (packaged in shredded money), so we were able to use the teaser, the video and later, a deleted scene, to follow up with press.

The result was several online conversations with journalists and a great write up in the Press Democrat. And the sales team in using the video and assets from the shoot to sell the product to the distributors.

I had to act in the video along with someone from our NYC office. I'd rather not do that, but this time we were moving fast and didn't have a large budget to hire someone. Anyway, it was fun. But next time I'd like to be behind the camera making sure we don't miss anything.

Enjoy the video:

By the way, the camera work and editing was done by my friend Dane at Digital Accomplice. We actually flew out together, stayed at the same hotel and took the same flight back. Was about the easiest traveling shoot I have ever done.
