Using Pinterest as a platform for a contest
We recently pulled off a quick promotion on Pinterest for one of our clients. The concept is harder to explain than to execute, which is opposite of normal, I suppose. You'll see above that it takes 4 steps just to explain it to the person entering the contest! It was a great success. Without giving away client data, we noticed that Pinterest became a huge driver to the website during the 6 weeks of the promo. We also had a great, deserving winner, which we announced with the image below. So many of these contests draw "professional contest enter-ers", people who enter contest after contest without an interest in the brand, but in this case the prize (drawn randomly) went to someone who had spent their honeymoon at the winery last fall.
